The University offers various tools and resources that can support you on your journey to good health. All employees are eligible to participate in the Campus Recreation, Wellness Fairs, EAP, and Tobacco Cessation support. All other programs are for medical participants only.
The University of Idaho Wellness Program is through Campus Recreation. The program includes:
- Organized exercise sessions with trained instructors including jogging, aerobics, dance, and yoga
- Individual guided self-paced exercise program
Both options include individualized health factors inventory and pre-test of resting EKG pulmonary capacity and full stress test prior to beginning exercise. The program also includes seminars on nutrition, exercise and stress management.
Fees are payable on initial enrollment or through payroll deduction of $6.50 per pay period.
Free personal health screening (e.g., cholesterol and glucose level testing, blood pressure measurement, and a height/weight and body composition assessment). Seasonal flu shots may also be available. Check with your local affirmative action coordinator or benefit services for more information.

Tobacco Cessation Support
As part of Healthcare Reform, the Tobacco Cessation Support program has been expanded and now includes most generic prescriptions and support free of cost. It is no longer necessary to fill out a reimbursement form. Simply obtain a prescription from your doctor and go to any in-network pharmacy to have it filled using your CVS Caremark card.
