In-Class Assignments

Each of the three assignments below should be carefully crafted and refined works completed on one full sheet of Bristol board for each assignment.   You will be graded down for poor craftsmanship.

Value
Using paint create five 1 x1 inch squares on Bristol board that are tints and shades of a single hue. Using your value scale created in assignment one to help you place your squares in order of value on a Bristol board backing. They should be centered and mounted in a line on an 11x14 inch piece of Bristol board.

Focal Point
Create a version of your final composition from assignment one that uses value to create a focal point.

Intensity
Create a version of your final composition from assignment one that uses high intensity and low value contrast.
