Fourth of July is right around the corner, and it's hard to believe we're already midway through summer. Soon the campus will be filled with many new Vandal faces
. And what does a new school year mean? A new season of football.
Idaho coach Paul Petrino will lead the Vandals this year. Along with regular pre-game festivities at home, the Office of Alumni Relations has celebrations planned for away games in Texas, Wyoming, Mississippi and Florida. Come join fellow football fans in cheering on the Vandals at every stop on the road. Get pre-game details, transportation information and more on our away game calendar, and purchase game day tickets online.
Also coming up fast, Homecoming is Sept. 22-29, just a few weeks after school begins. The schedule for the week is up, and new events are added regularly.

Then and Now: Wallace Residence Center
With two large study rooms and a central bunk-bed sleeping area, there was a lot of space in the University of Idaho Wallace Residence Center’s original layout for students to exercise their inner interior decorator.
Sure, students could sleep in the center room – or they could do what Eric Eldenburg ’75 did in 1973 and drag the mattresses out, cover the room in black-light posters and crank the stereo.

A Healthy Balance
Ben Greenfield ’04 ’05 had barely settled into a taxi on one of the world’s most stunning islands, deep in southern Thailand, when he pulled out his laptop and started typing.
The fitness expert and his podcast co-host, Brock Skywalker Armstrong, were in Phuket for the Laguna Phuket Triathlon in December, an event Greenfield has competed in several times. But Greenfield is rarely working on just one thing. On the 10-minute cab ride from their hotel to a downtown shopping district, Greenfield opened a few files on his MacBook and picked up where he’d left off: He was writing an article for a magazine.
“Where I was just sitting in the cab looking at the Thai scenery go by the window,” Armstrong said, “he was researching and writing.”
