Dear University of Idaho Alumni and Friends:We are in the middle of planning and staging numerous winter and spring activities for our alumni. Events will be staged nationwide and we encourage you to watch Vandal Vibe for upcoming details. Our gatherings will include events around the country, including our Annual Alumni trek to the Arizona desert in late March.
Last week during our "Vandal Week in Boise" we had successful meetings of the U-Idaho Alumni Association board of directors, under the leadership of president Lou Aldecoa ’76. This group funds and administers our alumni association award and recognition program and were able to participate in the Ada County Silver and Gold award reception along with more than 200 guests.

Alumna Success
Katie Pemberton, who graduated from University of Idaho’s College of Education with a master of education in curriculum and instruction, was recently singled out to receive the 2013 Idaho Teacher of the Year award.Vandals Blitz Boise
Jim Lyle Award
Laine Meyer '72 will receive a 2013 Jim Lyle Award at a special reception Feb. 8 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Meyer was elected this year to chair the University of Idaho Foundation board. He is a retired, former vice president of Hewlett-Packard Corp. He and his wife Claudia live in California and have a second home in Sun Valley.
The Jim Lyle Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the University and/or alumni association through volunteerism. It is bestowed annually by the University of Idaho Alumni Association.
