Official Game Day T-shirt Design Contest
Each year the University of Idaho gives its students, alumni, fans and supporters the opportunity to leave their mark on the Vandal Game Day experience with the Vandal Game Day T-Shirt design contest.
Grad Fest
Grad Fest is a celebratory event where graduating students can purchase commencement regalia, order announcements, pick up their honor cords, get their photos taken and take a survey about their experience at the University. SArb represents the link between the Alumni Association and the students and it is their charge to assist soon-to-be grads and let them know how to stay connected to Idaho after graduation. It is also a time where aspiring Tradition Keepers can receive their incentive pin or medallion.
Alumni and Friends Easter Egg Hunt
SArb invites area children 0-12 years old to the University of Idaho Administration Lawn to scout for eggs. The event is a fun and controlled environment for children as well as a way to connect alumni and students. Those finding the silver or gold eggs win a special prize.
Silver and Gold Day
Silver and Gold Day is held April 7 in honor of the ceremonial birthday of the Alumni Association (April, 1898). An award reception is held each year. The Alumni Association Board of Directors selects recipients to be honored at a reception where SArb members assist in hosting, greeting and socializing with local alumni.
Moms’ Weekend
SArb invites mothers of current students to come to campus to celebrate student talent, achievement and get a taste of campus life.
Students are encouraged to invite their mothers to campus to get a taste of what day-to day life is like for their kids. The schedule for mom’s weekend includes activities such as a brunch for students and their mom’s, a Silver and Gold football scrimmage, Phi Delta Theta Turtle Derby, Kappa Kappa Gamma Fun Run, dinner and entertainment and films. CASE Affiliated Students of Advancement Programs Conferences
SArb sends students to participate in the CASE ASAP district VIII Conference and Network Convention. Our members join with other similar student groups to share best practices and have FUN!
Vandal Walk
This event kicks off the fall semester welcoming new students to the University of Idaho campus by taking them on a reverse of the walk they will take at Commencement. Vandal Walk is led from the Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center to the Presidents’ Barbeque at Administration Lawn where faculty and staff serve the new students dinner. As Vandal Pride advocates, SArb members hand out the Official Vandal Game Day T-shirt to all new students and leads the incoming class in a favorite Idaho tradition – the fight song.
Dads’ Weekend
SArb invites fathers of current students to come to campus to celebrate student talent, achievement and get a taste of campus life. SArb hosts many major events over the weekend including the annual father/student Golf Tournament, alumni reception, dinner or breakfast.
Tradition Keepers
In an effort to excite student and alumni engagement and cultivate a memorable college experience, the University of Idaho Student Alumni Relations Board gathered past and present traditions into a book, including the history of our alma mater, summaries of more than 50 traditions, photos and an incentive program.
The "I Book" describes our University traditions, past and present. By visiting campus landmarks like the I Bench and the Administration Steps, or taking part in campus events like the Borah Symposium, the Jazz Festival and Homecoming, participants come closer to becoming a University of Idaho Tradition Keeper. By completing 15 traditions, a participant may receive a silver Tradition Keeper lapel pin. After earning 35 tradition points, a participant is awarded a Tradition Keeper medallion to wear at graduation or keep as a memento of their commitment to Idaho's history.
Relay for Life
Each spring semester SArbies participate in the Relay for Life supporting the American Cancer Society. Their goal fundraising amount annually is $1,000 and have come up with some exciting new ways to raise the funds.
