Mike Carpenter
Carpenter has been an energetic spokesperson for the Vandals of Idaho Falls. He has organized football game transportation as well as numerous watch parties. In 2012, Carpenter helped build the area’s first baseball game event and alumni golf tournament.
Before the tournament, Carpenter hired an interior designer to help create a U-Idaho-themed bar and seating area to host members of Vandal athletics, alumni and friends. Decor was to include several Vandal items that held value to Carpenter. Among these were photos of Carpenter with U-Idaho faculty, coaches and other prominent university personnel.
“Mike entertained, organized and rallied support and participation from the Idaho Falls community,” said Katie Sivill, the interior designer Carpenter hired. “I was astounded by his support and enthusiasm for the college.”
Carpenter is an Idaho State University graduate, but you’d never guess it, said former National Alumni Board Member Roxane L. Mitro.
“He is the guy behind the scenes for everything that happens down here,” she said. “He is so dedicated to Idaho that you would never know he received his degree from another university. … No one from Moscow can come into town without Mike being involved somehow with the visit.”
