The Department of Animal and Veterinary Science prepares students in
the fields of animal science-production, dairy
science, agribusiness, range livestock management, and
pre-veterinary science.

fast-changing agricultural industry, UI's Department of Animal and
Veterinary Science prides itself on keeping at the forefront and making
sure its students are ready for today's job market. We strive to
maintain a balance between the traditional and what lies ahead on the
horizon. We provide our students a wide range of curriculum choices
in traditional production sciences, as well as the high-tech area of
