The American Federation of Teachers at the University of Idaho has become the de facto faculty union for handling grievances. Will you please join us in this essential struggle which daily affects our professional lives? Membership includes a $1,000,000 liability policy, access to legal and moral support, and national AFT publications. It also includes membership in its regional, state and national affiliates.

Annual dues for the school year 2002/2003 are $147.84 plus 0.35% of salary over $20,000, to a maximum of $254.02 in total dues. Nearly all members prefer to have the University Payroll Office deduct their dues automatically from each biweekly paycheck. The Internal Revenue Service requires us to state that dues paid to the University of Idaho Federation of Teachers are not deductible for federal income tax purposes because we are not a union shop.
