Funding Your Projects

The Foundation Center
The Foundation Center is an excellent resource for researching funding opportunities and gain knowledge about writing grants to foundations. It maintains a large database of foundations which is available for a monthly or annual fee. They also host free educational online courses and webinars and a free customizable listserv for opportunities.

This site provides free resources for both advanced grant writing consultants and inexperienced nonprofit staff.
Provides free access to the IRS 990PF forms of private foundations so you can research previously funded grantees.

The Most Corporations and Foundations ...

  • Respond more favorably to innovative proposals from entities who have established a relationship with them. The staff at Corporate and Foundation Relations are here to help you establish and steward those relationships.
  • Are becoming more focused and strategic in their giving and are demanding a new level of accountability and donor service.
  • Fund projects that address specific projects in line with their mission.
  • Require recipient be a 501(c)(3) charity so gifts are tax deductible for the donor, which we are.
  • Often maintain a lag time of several months from submission to notification of award.
  • Frequently limit the number of proposals an organization can submit per funding cycle. We assist with this coordination.
