Participation in the National Student Exchange (NSE) Program offers unique and exciting opportunities to stretch yourself, enhance your academic portfolio, and make you stand out from the crowd. NSE will allow you to meet new people and experience life “outside your comfort zone.” In addition, participation in NSE gives you a distinct advantage with potential employers, displaying your openness, willingness and adaptability.
NSE exchange programs can take you across the United States or Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Your exchange can be tailored to your needs. You will have the option of paying UI tuition and fees or in-state tuition and fees at your host school. You can choose to live on-campus or off campus whichever fits your lifestyle. While most students elect to participate in a NSE program for an entire academic year, it is possible to go for only one semester.
Can’t make up your mind where to go? That is okay, as you are allowed to list up to four choices on your application form in order of preference. If you meet the application deadline, you have a better than 80% chance of being placed at your first choice school. In the rare situation where your first choice is unavailable, having more than one choice increases your chances of being placed.
