Language Requirements

A command of the English language is essential to successfully complete ISI courses. Therefore, it is recommended that students whose primary language is not English read the course-sponsoring institution's language policy.

Computer Requirements

Internet access is required or recommended for the majority of ISI courses to view online course guides and other course materials. If you do not have access to the Internet, contact the ISI office to discuss your options prior to enrolling. Courses may require access to a computer with a DVD/CD drive and/or word-processing software. For course specific requirements, refer to the course descriptions.

Email Requirements

Email is required for ISI students and proctors to ensure the receipt of important communications from instructors and ISI staff in a timely and consistent manner. Students are automatically assigned a VandalMail email account ending with "" at the time of registration, which will remain active as long as the student is enrolled in an ISI course. All ISI correspondence will be conducted via VandalMail, so students should check this email account regularly for important course information. (Email forwarding is available for students who prefer to use a personal email address. Instructions for setting up email forwarding can be found by selecting Current Students, Setting Up Your Accounts, VandalMail.) Students are responsible for all information sent to them by email.

Vandal Accounts, NetID, BbLearn, VandalWeb, VandalMail

See Setting Up Your Accounts for information on these accounts.
