Registration Checklist
VandalMail — Important and time-sensitive information about financial aid, orientation, and more will be sent to your VandalMail account, so activate it immediately! Instructions are detailed at www.vandalmail.uidaho.edu. If you have technical problems, go to www.support.uidaho.edu.
Financial Aid — If you have not submitted your FAFSA it may still be possible to receive some financial aid. Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
University Residences (dorms or residence halls) — Take virtual room tours, request more information about housing, or reserve your room online at www.uidaho.edu/housing.
Greek Life (fraternities & sororities) — To receive information or to register for recruitment call 1-800-87-GREEK or 208-885-6757. The Greek Life website is located at www.uidaho.edu/greeklife.
Off Campus — Contact local rental offices and real estate agencies or review the housing website sponsored by ASUI: www.asui.uidaho.edu/trading. The best rentals go quickly!
Review the UI Catalog, Class Schedule, and registration instructions as soon as possible. You should register as early as possible for the best course selection.
Contact your on-campus advisor using the Department Contacts sheet or visit the UI Center in Boise or Coeur d'Alene for academic advising.
Once you have confirmed your schedule with your advisor, register online through VandalWeb.
Check your VandalMail for your scholarships and financial aid notification letter! If you have questions, call the Student Financial Aid Office at 1-88-88-UIDAHO, extension 6312 or 208-885-6312.
If you are currently enrolled at a high school, college, or university, contact their Registrar or Records Office and request that an official transcript be mailed to the Admissions Office once your final grades and graduation date/degree date (if applicable) are posted.
A billing statement is mailed to all newly registered students. Statements will reflect tuition and fees and any financial aid and scholarships you have received to date. Changes made to your account after this one-time billing can be viewed online by logging into VandalWeb. If you have any questions about your billing statement, contact the Student Accounts Office at 208-885-7447.
If you have decided not to attend UI, please notify the Admissions Office by calling 1-88-88-UIDAHO extension 6326 or 208-885-6326.
Contact the schools that you applied to but will not attend, so that your place in the entering class and any financial aid and scholarship money may be awarded to someone else.
Ask yourself — Are you ready to go to college? Do you have everything you need?
- Classes —Do you know who your advisor is and are your registered?
- Accommodations — Do you know where you are going to live?
- Money — Do you know how you will pay for college? Have you accepted your financial aid and scholarships? Do you still need help from the Financial Aid Office?
Buy your books. Upfront is the UI Bookstore's textbook reservation program. You can prepay for your textbooks and have them selected, charged out, packed, and waiting for you when you get to campus. Go to www.uidahobookstore.com for all of the details and deadlines.
Residence Hall Check-In — Residence Halls open a few days before school starts, coinciding with New Student Orientation. Call University Residences at 1-88-88-UIDAHO extension 6571 or 208-885-6571 for more information.
Campus Parking Permits — If you plan to park a car on campus you must have the appropriate parking permit. Go to Parking for all of the details and make your purchase online.
Vandal ID Card
- Say cheese! When you get to campus, go to the Vandal Card Office at either the Wallace Complex or by the SUB Information Desk and have your picture taken for your student ID card.
- Your Vandal Card is your student ID an so much more! Use it to access your residence hall, the library, campus recreational facilities, athletic events, and much more.
- It also works as a pre-paid cash card when you make a deposit to your Vandal Card account. You can make purchases at numerous campus locations, such as the UI Bookstore, food outlets, laundry machines, copy centers - and receive discounts for many purchases!
Print your class schedule from
VandalWeb the day before classes begin to verify classroom assignments.
Be sure to go to class so that you are not dropped for non-attendance.
