Core Requirements

All undergraduate degree-seeking students attending the University of Idaho must complete the General Education Core requirements.  Students may complete either UI Core or State Board of Education Core requirements based on their admittance to the University of Idaho:

• Students who begin their education at the University of Idaho with fewer than 14 transferable college credits are admitted as first-year students and placed on the UI Core for the school year in which they were admitted.  (e.g., A student admitted for the Fall 2009 semester must complete the UI Core for the 2009-2010 catalog year.)
• Transfer students may choose to complete either the UI Core or the State Board of Education Core requirements

Students with questions about their Core requirements should contact their academic advisor. A Change of Core form is required for those eligible to change their Core option.
