There are many ways to get involved with the Honors Leadership Council.
1. Attend Events
The Honors Leadership Council, in conjunction with the University Honors Program, hosts dozens of events each semester.
These events include social, cultural, academic and service activities, such as bonfires, ice skating, swimming, ice cream socials, fireside chats with professors, Relay for Life and volunteering at the Idaho Food Bank, among others. To find out what events are happening now, see the University of Idaho Honors Program Facebook group and the weekly honors emails.
2. Share Your Opinion
You can share your opinions, ideas or questions about events, classes or anything else with the Honors Leadership Council (HLC) by:
- Talking with an HLC member
- Emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
- Attending an HLC meeting
We would love to hear from you!
3. Join the Council
Each spring members of the Honors Program elect 9 representatives to serve on the Honors Leadership Council (HLC) the following year. To be eligible for election an interested student must be a University Honors Program member in good standing and fill out an application (which will be made available to all UHP students prior to the election).
Each fall an additional 3 members are elected from the incoming honors students during new student orientation. To be eligible for election an interested student must fill out an application (which will be made available to all incoming UHP students prior to the election).
The council provides valuable advice to the director and the Honors Program Committee, evaluates proposed seminars, coordinates a variety of social, cultural and community service activities, and helps in the orientation and mentoring of new students.
We would love to have you!
