Scholarships & Pay

Army ROTC students who receive an Army ROTC scholarship or enter the Army ROTC Advanced Course must agree to complete a period of service with the Army.

  • You can serve full-time in the Army for three years (four years for scholarship winners)
  • Selected Cadets may choose to serve part-time in the U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career
  • It's an experience that you can't get anywhere else, and your leadership skills will be challenged every day. Contact your campus Military Science department for more specific details on your Army ROTC service commitment.
  • Enrolling in the Army ROTC Basic Course does NOT involve a commitment of service to the Army unless you have received an Army ROTC scholarship.

Army ROTC scholarships are designed to offset the cost of a college education. Army ROTC scholarships pay an annual established amount towards tuition and mandatory educational fees and $1200 per year for books and supplies.

In addition to helping you meet the escalating cost of going to college, our program provides an experience that successful careers are built on. You'll be given personal, scholastic, and professional training no other college course offers. You'll learn how to take charge, perform under pressure, and to lead and inspire others. You'll graduate with an impressive resume in leadership and management that employers value. That makes ROTC a step in the right direction.

Anyone can apply for a scholarship without obligation until the scholarship is awarded, accepted, and the scholarship contract is signed. Learn more about Army ROTC scholarships.

Scholarships are offered under the Whole Person Concept, which ensures that all attributes of an individual are considered. The individual must be able to succeed in college as well as in ROTC to achieve a commission.
