Starting the Process
Choosing a major that is the right one for you is an important task in college! Many college students are unsure of their choice of major. We want to assure you that being undecided about your major is not unusual and that we have many resources on our campus to help you make this decision. These pages are here to help you find a major that will match your interests, abilities, and goals. A good match between who you are and the major you choose will increase your success in school and lead you toward a fulfilling career!
How to Choose a Major
It helps to define a clear process for selecting a major, even if you already seem to "know" what to major in. The average college student today changes majors three times! Not only can that slow you down, but it can also lead to confusion and self-doubt. We hope you will spend the time now (instead of later) to go through the decision-making steps outlined here. It can really help you find a good direction in school and increase your chance of success.
What NOT to Do First
Don't look at a list of majors, yet! This may sound like crazy advice, but that's really not the best place to start this process. We don't want you to feel trapped like the guy right above so, take a few minutes now to look through these suggestions!
